FAQs about new parent organizing
When should I book a new parent organizing session?
Most clients book 4–8 weeks before their due date. This gives us time to set up the nursery and baby systems without interfering with late-pregnancy fatigue. Last-minute bookings after the baby arrives are absolutely welcome too — we've reset many homes in the first few weeks of a newborn's life.
Can you work around a small NYC apartment?
Yes — small apartments are our specialty. Brooklyn and Manhattan parents routinely fit a baby into a 1-bedroom or 1.5-bedroom apartment. We design dual-purpose storage, use vertical space, and identify which baby gear is actually essential (and which you can skip entirely).
Do I need to buy all the baby stuff before you come?
Not necessarily. We can work with what you have and give you a shopping list of what's missing. Many first-time parents buy way too much — part of our job is helping you avoid that. A shorter gear list usually means a calmer home.
Can you help with the kitchen and feeding setup, not just the nursery?
Yes. A full new-parent package includes the kitchen (bottle station, formula storage, breast pump area, sterilizer placement), laundry zones, and parent-facing spaces like the bathroom and bedroom. The nursery is only about a third of what actually needs to work when you have a newborn.
Do you help with baby-proofing?
We handle the organizing side of baby-proofing — cord management, identifying hazards, setting up safe storage for medications and cleaning products, and placing a first aid kit. For hardware installation (cabinet locks, gate mounting, furniture anchoring), we typically recommend a specialized baby-proofing service and can coordinate scheduling.
